My name is Melanie Whedon, but most people just call me Mel.

I am a watercolor artist living in Bend, Oregon with my hubby and pup. I’m actively working as an architect full-time, but watercolor is my way of putting my ideas about the world onto paper.

I really enjoy exploring themes of scale in nature, and am naturally drawn towards finding the balance between abstract texture and crisp detail.

Other than painting, you can usually find me hiking, traveling, listening to an audiobook while doing housework, doing yoga, and most recently - rock climbing!
