short sands

Where the cliffs meet the sea. Short Sands is a beach on the Oregon Coast where the cliffs create a cove, and birds swarm at the edge of the water and rocks. I tried to get this piece “right” a few times - painting these cliffs, the water, and flock of birds numerous times. Ultimately, I was trying to create a fluid motion between all the elements in the piece, and allowing the bold cliffs to stand out among the rest.
